Having German grandparents, it's hard to believe a trip to Hannover a few weekends ago was my first ever visit to Germany. My dad also worked there 5 days a week whilst I was growing up and still I had never been.
Better late than never, Christmas was a perfect time to visit... Festive markets, bratwursts a plenty, Gluhwein in abundance, cold beers and yummy lebkuchen. It was, as expected, very cold but fortunately I was prepared! It was nice to spend time with loved ones and a jolly good time was had by all.
